John Hailer Co-Founds Natixis to Help Students with Loan Repayment
College education should not be taken for granted because the careers pursued have opened the door to success for many. The challenges facing many students on campus include higher living costs and unaffordable academic expenses. The high cost of education has made life very difficult for some families in the United States. Several families are forced to apply for loans, grants, or debts to help finance their learning. Families are finding it hard to invest because of their debts and tough economic times.
Statistics show that a high percentage of U.S.A students who graduated in 2020 have debts. Educational debts take the second position after mortgage debts in the United States. The average debt for each student is $28,950, with a total of $1.75 million when private and federal student loans are added. A more significant percentage of students with debts have ages ranging between 25 to 34. Most of these students tend to pay their debts from 35 to 49.
These student loans have both positively and negatively impacted society. It has significantly affected how families make their financial decisions. According to Exec at Natixis John Hailer, Natixis CEO, the firm conducted a survey and found that several individuals fail to be part of firm-sponsored retirement plans because of their huge debts. A quarter of employees average up saving nothing because their retirement benefits are converted to loan repayment. Natixis CEO, John Hailer urges the importance of saving and investing earlier to avoid cases of retiring without anything. The establishment of Natixis by John Hailer has helped several employees solve their financial debt issues.
