The unfortunate death of his parents inspired him to tell stories about the trauma of loss through art. Although O’Rourke has epilepsy, he does not allow this condition to deter him from following his passion. He remains committed to his work and even says his unique brain structure has helped him in his career. He also raises awareness about the mental condition by openly speaking about it.

He worked with these people and involved them as much as possible to make their stories more authentic. The film won an award for its diverse hiring practices.
