The Updated National Public Transportation Safety Plan by FTA

There is a new release of the National Public Transportation Safety Plan by the Federal Transit Administration. Greg Aziz relates how the release occurred on May 31st and encourages citizens to submit comments on the proposed changes. 

President Biden authorized the safety plan under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The draft guides how transit agencies can implement strong safety measures to improve safety for all people. According to Greg Aziz, this new publication replaces the original plan that has been operating since 2017. 

The new proposal includes performance measures to prevent transit worker injuries and vehicle collisions and reduce accidents and assaults for the workers. Greg Aziz is among the top leaders who’ve contributed much toward the country’s economic well-being.

Greg Aziz says there’s more. According to FTA, management safety committees will use the new performance measures to mitigate potential challenges that may affect the transportation sector. These changes impact public and personnel safety, especially during an emergency on the roads. 

The new systems will include tools, practices, voluntary best practices, and technical assistance to make the process successful and improve safety standards. FTA has a long-term plan to reach zero fatalities in America. Greg Aziz finally states that the strategy involves criteria for voluntary standards for bus transit and vehicle accidents.
