First Disappointment
While he first became interested in the stock market in his fifth grade, the great leader and mentor Ross Cameron first opened his first trading account in 2001 – while in high school. He invested his first $1000 in shares of familiar companies, such as ExxonMobil (XOM); however, at that time, he didn’t know that there were stocks that could move fast enough to generate him money as a day trader. Once Cameron’s younger sister celebrated her 21st birthday, his father’s estate got liquidated, and he received $100,000. He put that money into the market and started considering trading penny stocks to make at least $200 a day. Unfortunately, even after adding other types of stocks to the mix, Ross Cameron still remained unsuccessful.
With only $25,000 in his account, he changed his rules and started making profits. In 2017, he decided to fund a new trading account with $583.15, which earned him more than $100,000. In May 2019, he crossed his goal of growing the account into $1,000,000. Today, Ross Cameron´s account is worth more than $10,000,000!
Cameron’s Success Secrets
Although Cameron always appreciates the value of creating sensible goals in day trading, he always underscores the importance of making “as much as the market is willing to give.” He notes that it’s important to profit from volatility, and to avoid beating yourself up for failing to meet profit targets. According to Ross Cameron, it’s important to avoid aggressive position sizing to accomplish any goal if the market is simmering down.
