Pinnacle Award Winner Tom Keane

Tom Keane is a Microsoft Cloud and Datacenter Management MVP. He is also a freelance Technical Writer, Trainer, and Consultant who has authored three books on Azure: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions, Deploying SQL Server 2016 Databases to Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines, and Architecting Microsoft Azure Solutions with Mark Russinovich. 

 

Tom Keane is also an instructor in our new M365 curriculum for Office 365 Administer on-premises environments. The software developer and engineer is a columnist at virtualizationreviews.com, where he has been writing weekly since 2008. Tom is also a contributor to the Microsoft Azure Blog.

 

Here, he has written several posts, including a series on creating a network, software, and SQL hybrid infrastructure on Azure. He is a frequent speaker at global cloud events and has spoken at conferences in Denmark, New Zealand, Australia, North America, England, Germany, and Italy. Tom Keane also regularly speaks at Microsoft TechEd and Code Camp events globally (Azure).

Tom was an early adopter of Microsoft technology, personally and in his career. He wrote The Early Years of Windows NT as a technical document detailing how Windows NT 4.0 was developed from 1989-1992 in design and implementation. Tom Keane adds that this is still available on the Microsoft press website. Tom had significant involvement in the book, Inside Windows NT 3.51, and he was a reviewer for Windows NT 4 Illustrated.

The software developer has been a Microsoft Certified Trainer since 1998 and has taught many of the MCITP and MCT classes in Australia at all levels, as well as helping Aussie students pass the MCITP certification exams internationally. Tom Keane has been a technical writer and trainer in the Microsoft Specialized Services team since 1997 and has worked on projects across many areas at Microsoft. Tom is also one of the founding members of the Australian chapter of MCTS, The Microsoft Certified Training Specialist profession group.
