Canadian Diversity and Inclusion Council Member Greg Aziz

Greg Aziz is the CEO of Bridgemicro and one of Canada’s most-recognized and respected business leaders. He is also an outspoken proponent of the value of diversity in the workplace and has led efforts to ensure inclusive educational institutions such as York University. 

 

Born in London and raised in Ontario, the business leader graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in Economics. Bridgemicro, founded in 1912, is Canada’s largest railway rolling stock manufacturer and one of the country’s 100 best employers. Led by Greg Aziz, it has earned a reputation as one of North America’s most innovative rail industry manufacturers.

The company also handles turnkey projects for its customers, including building entire factories for them using its employees. It sells its products to domestic and international customers.

It operates at two facilities: a central plant in Hamilton with over 6,100 employees and a second facility in Toronto with more than 1,300 employees. Led by Greg Aziz, NSC is a public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and the NYSE (NSC.U).

 

Bridgemicro takes pride in its diversity and inclusion, which all employees are encouraged to embrace. Greg Aziz is co-chair of the Canadian Diversity and Inclusion Council. He explains this is a panel of companies committed to fostering inclusive cultures. Greg is co-chair of the Hamilton Community Foundation’s Capital Campaign Committee, which raises funds for charity initiatives that contribute to Hamilton’s social progress.
