Happy Joe’s is a special needs resource center in San Francisco with a goal to make their holiday celebrations more special for their clients. They do this by making sure that all of the children with special needs that attend their event have family members with them as well as bringing in food and gifts for them.
Most importantly, not only are they providing free Christmas festivities, but also party planners and goodie bags to welcome each person who comes into the party. Happy Joe’s is located in San Francisco, CA, and is a non profit organization that provides resources to people with developmental disabilities like autism.
The foundation was created in 1969 by Jim Ryan. In 2010, they were awarded the Humanitarian Award by the National Organization on Disability for their contributions to the world. At Happy Joe’s Kristel Whitty-Ersan reveals all the details of these incredible activities for children and their families:
They will take place on December 6 and 7 at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. On both days, there will be two parties. Hours for the first party will be 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. In addition to the special needs children that attend the Happy Joe’s Christmas celebrations, there will be other adults involved with each family as well. These adults will help to bring in food and everyone gets a goodie bag to take home with them.
