From Talent Manager to Music CEO: Brandon Silverstein’s New Chapter at Avex

Rising music executive Brandon Silverstein has been named CEO of the newly formed Avex Music Group, marking a significant milestone in his already impressive career.

The appointment, announced March 25, sees the S10 Entertainment founder taking the helm of Japanese entertainment giant Avex’s consolidated American operations, following the company’s full acquisition of S10 Music Publishing and increased stake in S10 Management.

Silverstein’s journey to this position began with founding S10 Entertainment in 2017. He partnered with Avex in 2020 to create S10 Publishing, which quickly became a hitmaking powerhouse with chart-toppers like Tate McRae’s “Greedy,” Doja Cat’s “Agora Hills,” and Justin Bieber’s “Peaches.”

His talent for spotting and developing artists has led to impressive results: 22 global #1 hits, 50 billion streams, and a management roster that includes hip-hop star Big Sean, Latin sensation Myke Towers, and actress-artist Madison Bailey.

“I feel incredibly fortunate to have globally-minded partners,” Silverstein said in an earlier statement. His new role will involve building Avex’s music publishing portfolio, promoting Japanese artists internationally, forming joint ventures, and expanding into music catalog acquisitions.

Industry recognition has followed Silverstein throughout his career, with appearances on Billboard’s “Power 100” and “40 Under 40” lists and Forbes’ “30 Under 30.”

Avex CEO Katsumi Kuroiwa expressed confidence in the appointment: “Together, we will create new opportunities for creatives, introduce Japanese talent to a wider global audience, and push boundaries.”

While overseeing Avex Music Group, Silverstein will continue to own and independently operate S10 Records, maintaining his entrepreneurial spirit alongside his new corporate leadership role.
